Award-winning children’s book author and indie publisher Darcy Pattison will teach you how to develop your ideas into a publishing brand that will bring success. What will your publishing company be known for? Learn the indie publishing nitty-gritty of choosing printers, distribution methods, working with illustrators, book formats and more.


Darcy’s indie-published works have received starred PW and Kirkus reviews. Awards include four NSTA Outstanding Science Trade Books, Eureka! Nonfiction Honor book, two Junior Library Guild selections, an NCTE Notable Children’s Book in Language Arts, and a 2021 Notable Social Studies Trade Books. CRITIQUES with Darcy
Opportunity for up to ten critiques of manuscripts (limited to 12 pages. One full picture book. For novels, a one-page synopsis and first chapter).  Instructions for where/when to send critiques sent after registration.

Workshop cost: $50 for SCBWI members, $65 for non-members
